The Meadows

The Meadows are located near the peaceful River Colne estuary, close to the Essex Business School. It's only a ten-minute walk from all the central campus facilities.

With a real sense of its own community, The Meadows has its own shop for those last-minute essentials and common room where you can meet other students from around the world to chat, exchange experiences, and learn about new cultures.

*   All rooms have large, four-foot wide beds (double bedding packs will fit)

*   A social pavilion with a common room, shop, and launderette

Home to 15,000 students from more than 130 countries, our Colchester Campus is the largest of our three sites, making us one of the most internationally diverse campuses on the planet - we like to think of ourselves as the world in one place.

The Campus is set within 200 acres of beautiful parkland, located two miles from the historic town centre of Colchester – England's oldest recorded town. Our Colchester Campus is also easily reached from London and Stansted Airport in under one hour. We are located in the historic, 200-acre Wivenhoe Park. The park was originally landscaped in the eighteenth century and was painted by celebrated artist John Constable.

Today, the striking landscape provides a tranquil place for all to enjoy. The campus squares are always buzzing with life. With shops, a bustling street market, a bank, restaurants, bars, a theatre, a cinema, hairdressers, a gym and even a nightclub; it's possible to survive your time at Essex without ever actually leaving campus (not something we recommend, but you get the idea...).
