General Description
A large purpose built hall of residence within the BU portfolio, available for first year students attending BU but owned and operated by Unite Students, who are the landlord for all residents.
Purbeck House is a friendly accommodation block that’s home to more than 500 undergraduate students. A few studios are available but the majority are ensuite rooms within cluster flats sharing a kitchen. It has two blocks of flats with a courtyard separating them. There is also a common room and study room.
The ResLifeBU programme and annual bus pass is included in the rent. It is possible to opt out of the annual bus pass.
Prices are based on 2023/24 and may be subject to change for the 2024/25 cycle.

Local area
It’s situated in the centre of our Lansdowne Campus, within easy reach of all of our buildings, as well as the train station, the centre of Bournemouth and the beach. There’s also a Co-op over the road and the university bus (U1) picks up and drops off from just around the corner.

Terms and conditions
Please visit the BU website for full details of the Terms and Conditions. To secure your accommodation at the time of booking there is a £250 advance rent payment, deducted from the first rent payment. The annual rent is split into three instalments. Rooms are 42-week contracts, the studios are 50 weeks. Arrival timeslots are booked at the time of completing the online enrolment in September.
