General Description

Our beautiful self-contained Canterbury campus provides a welcoming environment and a close-knit student community. We have something for everyone with a wide range of campus accommodation available for every budget including en-suite, shared facilities, catered and self-catered options plus a guaranteed accommodation offer for firm choice students when you apply before 30 June.

Your accommodation includes a Kent Sport Premium Plus membership, personal possession insurance and are offered on contracts that match your academic registration period. Each accommodation area belongs to one of six colleges and has its own reception,  24/7 security, housekeeping team and laundry facilities. Our accommodation is open to new and returning students (housed separately).

Social facilities on campus include various cafés, bars and bistros, a cinema, theatre, gym, sports facilities, and Student Union managed club. We also have an excellent Student Support and Wellbeing team available on campus plus lots of study spaces and facilities across campus.

Local area

All of the University of Kent's undergraduate shared facilities accommodation is located on the Canterbury campus and just a few minutes walk from Templeman Library, which sits at the heart of the Canterbury campus. There are a wide range of facilities at your fingertips. with a Kent Sport Premium Plus membership included as part of your accommodation.

Overlooking the historic city of Canterbury and its Cathedral, the University of Kent campus is only a 25 minute walk away from the city. Additionally, a regular UniBus service gives you the best of both worlds with our 300 acres of green parkland campus just a 10 minute ride away from the bustle of Canterbury city centre with its medieval buildings, lively bars, atmospheric pubs and a wide range of shops. Meanwhile, 20 minutes in the other direction on the bus, will find you in the idyllic seaside town of Whitstable.

London is an hour away by high-speed train and we're also the closest UK city to mainland Europe, so you can be in Paris, Brussels or Lille within two hours.

Terms and conditions

Self-catered accommodation is offered on a 39 or 52 week contract starting on the weekend before Welcome Week starts in September.
Part-catered accommodation is offered on a 31 or 37 week occupancy (depending on the accommodation selected) starting on the weekend before Welcome Week starts in September and does not include vacation periods for occupancy.

No deposit is required, with accommodation fees due to be paid within two weeks from the start of term at the latest.
